FAQs

Is counselling right for me?

  • Everybody enters into counselling for different reasons and will also experience it differently. What works for one person might not necessarily be the same for another, but if you can give yourself fully in to the process then you will get what you need from it.

Does seeing a therapist make me weak?

  • On the contrary! A lot of us have been programmed from childhood that strength means hiding how we truly feel but there is actually an incredible amount of courage and strength in being vulnerable. It's not for the faint-hearted!

Do I have to tell my GP I'm having therapy?

  • You are under no obligation to tell your GP you are seeing a therapist, however if you are at risk of harming yourself or others then they would be contacted after having discussed it with you first.

How many sessions do I need?

  • There are no set number of sessions you are required to have. You can have as little or as many as you feel you need.
